Type Locality and Naming

The type section is located at Yutang Village, Banka, Yongde County, Yunnan. It was named by Lan Chaohua et al. in 1983.


Lithology and Thickness

Limestone. Dominated by gray-white and light-gray thick-bedded to massive bioclastic limestone, with a layer of purple-red dolomitic limestone at bottom. 257 m thick

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

Conformable contact with the underlying Pingzhang Fm

Upper contact

Conformable contact with the overlying Yutangzhai Fm

Regional extent

Distributed along Yongde and Fengqing, being 257 m thick around Yutang Village of Banka and thickened to 818 m northeastward to Dachezishan of Fengqing.
